DTF Printing
1. How to prepare a file for DTF printing?
In DTF technology, the machine prints a white ink underbase and applies adhesive precisely under each visible pixel. This means we print exactly what you send us, 1:1 — no guesswork and no manual background removal.
Below you will find technical parameters and export tips that will guarantee ideal sharpness and saturation.
1. Remove background
Make sure the background in your design is 100% transparent to avoid printing a white rectangle under the graphic.
2. 1:1 Scale
Set the artboard to the desired dimensions in centimeters for your apparel. Enlarging small graphics results in pixelation.
3. Sharp edges
Avoid blurry shadows and transparencies — replace them with sharp edges or halftone dots.
4. Min. 0.5 mm line
All standalone lines and letters should be at least 0.5 mm thick for the adhesive to bond well with the fabric.

Most recommended save method:
-
Outlines: Convert text to outlines (
Ctrl+Shift+O/Cmd+Shift+O). - Save: Choose PDF High Quality format without bleeds or crop marks.
Raster (Photoshop / Procreate)
For photos, digital graphics, and illustrations:
- Save TIFF: 300 DPI, RGB, with transparency and LZW compression.
- PNG format: Only permissible if the source project was created in PNG 300 DPI.
Gang Sheet Layout
When arranging multiple graphics on a single gang sheet, remember these rules:
- Spacing: Minimum 5–10 mm for easy scissor cutting.
- Margins: Leave a 5 mm safe margin from the edge of the sheet.
2. What materials can DTF prints be applied to?
Unlike traditional marking methods, DTF technology stands out for its exceptional versatility. Thanks to its flexible adhesive binder, the heat transfer perfectly bonds with many types of fibers — from natural knits to demanding synthetic fabrics and thick outerwear textiles.
Cotton and Blends
Classic t-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, and cotton/canvas bags.
Polyester and Sportswear
Technical t-shirts, training and functional wear (using Dye-Block transfer).
Elastane and Stretch Fabrics
Elastic and fitted clothing – the print naturally works and stretches with the fibers.
Jackets and Thick Fabrics
Rain jackets, softshells, thick hoodies, accessories, and workwear.
DTF HQ (Standard)
A classic, versatile variant with maximum color saturation for most everyday and promotional fabrics.
- Photographic details and high sharpness.
DTF Reflective
A variant with a special light-reflecting effect, ideal for better visibility in the dark.
- Great for running, cycling, and workwear.
DTF Dye-Block
Features an underbase that blocks the migration of aggressive sublimation dyes from dyed polyester.
- White remains pristine white on dark polyester.
Why do DTF prints last for years?
The cured thermoplastic adhesive forms a flexible membrane that does not crack, crumble, or detach from the material during wear.
Wash garments at a maximum temperature of 30°C on delicate wash cycles.
Always turn your t-shirt or hoodie inside out before placing it in the washing machine drum.
Avoid strong stain removers, chlorine-based bleaches, and direct ironing over the graphic.
